Stafford Lumsden was a winner of the 2020 Australian Financial Review Higher Education Award for Learning Experience, He is an Assoc. Fellow of the Wollongong Academy for Tertiary Teaching & Learning Excellence (WATTLE) and a Senior Fellow of the TESOL Media Lab. His research interests include the ongoing development of the Community of Inquiry Framework as a tool for online course design and evaluation and the use of semiotic resources in online learning environments for training English Language Teachers. Stafford has 15+ years experience in the education sector as an EFL teacher, TESOL Trainer, and Educational designer. Currently, he is a Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) & Education Specialist in the Learning Teaching and Curriculum Unit at the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia. He holds an MA TESOL from Victoria University, Wellington, and a Master of Research from Macquarie University. Ask him at next year's conference if he has finished his PhD!

Opening Night Panel + Q and A Session
After Gerd Leonhard has told us a bit about our futures as humans in this rapidly changing world, we need to begin to think about this in terms of ELT. Our opening night panel lets attendees hear the voices of 5 different professionals, from an early-career teacher to one of the most experienced educators in Korea. Each will briefly describe their thoughts and feelings about what may / might / will happen in ELT, in order to prime attendees to reflect on their own future(s) in the days ahead.
